Early Scholars Preschool - FAQs
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us.
What is Early Scholars Preschool?
We are an Early Childhood Education centre that offers part time, full time, half day and full day programs for children 18 months - 5 years of age. We also run a Summer Camp for school aged children.
I do not need daycare, why consider preschool?
Your child will have the opportunity to bridge the gap from home to school. As hard as parents try, they can not fabricate a social environment for their children so they can learn effective and positive social skills. In other words, adults don't 'play' the same way. We provide children with the exposure to a group of their peers necessary to develop these skills.
What will my child be doing at school?
We start our day with O'Canada in English and in French, then have our Opening Circle which includes our story of the week/month. Throughout the morning children will take part in small circle time, teacher-planned creative activities, free choice creative, snack time, music/drama/dance circle and free play time. Children can also participate our Kindermusik Music and Me program and French class.
Are meals and snacks provided?
YES! All snacks and lunches are provided and prepared on site by our chef. We serve homemade food that often has a secret ingredient such as a pureed vegetable. Each class has a bowl of fresh fruit. Children in our extended day program have additional snacks. We believe children feel safe and loved when their basic needs are met, food, drinks, rest and of course love.
What will my child be learning?
Along with literacy, numeracy, fine and gross motor skills, your child will learn · how · to learn, and to be an effective learner as part of a large group setting. Children who feel safe, loved and welcome will be confident learners. Your child will learn problem solving skills, how to communicate with teachers and other children and most of all how to make friends!
How do we achieve this?
Our staff love what we do and we will help your child develop positive teacher/child relationships in a safe and loving environment. Children who feel safe, loved and welcome will be interactive learners. When children understand expectations and experience success they build confidence and a positive self esteem.
